Informational Letter from the Penn-Trafford School District

To Our Business Community

The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County is an Educational Improvement Organization for Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. A business that is eligible receives a tax credit for contributing to the Foundation.

Tax credits may be applied against the tax liability of a business for the tax year in which the contribution was made.

The Foundation has accepted both restricted and unrestricted business contributions in the past. Restricted donations are distributed according to the business donor’s wishes. We are asking that you consider designating Penn-Trafford School District as the recipient of your contribution. This will restrict the funds to our district and keep your donations in our community.

The EITC program provides for tax credits equal to 75% of your contribution up to a maximum of $200,000 per taxable year. The tax credit can be increased to 90% of the contribution if the business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive years.
