PowerSchool Parent/Student Access
Access is now open to parents and students. Parents who created login usernames and passwords in the past do not need to create new ones. If you have any problems logging in or creating new accounts please contact Beverly Formato at 724-744-4496, ext. 4029.
According to the National Defense Authority Authorization Act of 2002, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 and the PA Act 10 (Armed Forces Recruiting Act), schools are required to provide names, addresses, and telephone numbers of students entering their junior and senior years to the various branches of the military. If a parent wishes to withhold this information, they may contact the high school by October 30, 2014 to have the student's name removed from this list. If you wish to remove your child's name, please email Pam Albert email@example.com. Otherwise, this information will be released to military branches.
Back to school shopping? As you back to school shop, please consider purchasing a backpack to donate to the "Backpacks-to-Go" program. As a reminder, the “Backpacks-to-Go” Program is a supplemental nutrition program that is new to the Penn- Trafford School District. Through the “Backpacks-to-Go” program, we provide a backpack filled with easy-to-prepare meals and snacks for weekends to our children. This program was developed in response to ongoing student needs with no weekend access to the school breakfast and/or lunch program. In April 2014, we piloted the program at Harrison Park and the high school. This program will be implemented district-wide starting in September 2014. Children enrolled in the program, by parent request, take home a backpack with nutritious food in a safe, easy and discreet manner on the designated Fridays. The food items and included menu suggestions may be used for breakfast, lunch and dinner for Saturday and Sunday. Some of the child-friendly foods may include: peanut butter and jelly, easy-open canned fruit, applesauce, puddings, cereal, raisins, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, soup and canned pasta.
We offer the “Backpacks-to-Go” on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month during the school year with adjustments made for holidays. These backpacks are given directly to the children without requiring their parents to pick up the food at a location. By meeting basic needs of our children, we hope each child will be better able to focus on learning and schoolwork instead of an ‘empty feeling’ or worry about the next meal.
We are in need of backpacks. Our primary need for backpacks is for boys in grades 3-5 and for boys and girls in grades 6-12. If you are able to donate a backpack or would like to make a monetary donation, please contact Lauren Traill, Elementary School Counselor, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Pat Blahovec, High School Nurse, at email@example.com. Thank you for your support!
