Perks of Being a Wall Flower Visit
Mrs. Harris's and Mrs. Theys's English II,III,and IV students had the wonderful opportunity to meet privately with Stephen Chbosky the author Perks of Being a Wallflower.  The students read and discussed the book in class, but then were given the opportunity to ask the author himself questions.  It was truly a remarkable and exciting experience for all the students. To show their gratitude, the students wanted to present Mr. Chbosky with a gift. So, they designed a framed piece of art incorporating themes from the book. One of the seniors hand made the frame. Mr. Chbosky could not have been more impressed and appreciative of the students' depth of questioning, level of respect, and talent. Upon our return, the students wrote Mr. Chbosky a thank you note.  In a matter of one day, he returned a heartfelt and personal reposnse. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
