PT Celebrates 50 Years, Seeks Homecoming Royalty (9-3-21)

This school year marks the 50th anniversary of the merger between Penn Joint and Trafford High Schools to form Penn-Trafford High School.  A committee of Penn-Trafford alumna has announced the first of many ‘50th celebrations’ that will take place throughout the year.

Stephanie Martini (PTHS teacher / Class of ‘07), Jen (Casino) Haberberger (PTHS teacher / Class of ‘86), Kristy (Darragh) Giovannitti (Level Green Elementary teacher / Class of ‘96), and Amy (Kelly) Horvat (PTHS Assistant Principal / Class of ‘87) are planning to honor the school’s past by gathering Homecoming Kings and Queens from the past 50 years.  Past royalty is invited to take part in the school’s Homecoming Parade and football game festivities on October 8, 2021.

“From its first football season in 1972, Warrior Football has been an integral part of bringing the Penn-Trafford community together, and it has done the same ever since in our now cohesive community,” comments Dr. Amy Horvat.  “The 2021 football season marks the 50th year that the boys in green and gold have stepped onto the football field, and we think that’s reason to celebrate.”

The committee invites former kings and queens to reach out to any of its members for additional information:
