Superhero Rewards Incent Student Reading (9-24-21)

This past spring, art teacher Mrs. Christoforetti challenged her then 4th-graders at Harrison Park Elementary School to each design a pin with a superhero theme as part of an Accelerated Reader project.  Accelerated Reader is a computer program that helps teachers manage their students’ independent reading efforts.

Of all the entries, two designs were selected to become pins, and the pins are now being used as prizes for students who meet reading thresholds.  Fifth-grade students Emma Tintera and Brayden O'Connor are the design winners, and each received a shirt and award certificate for their efforts.
