PT’s FBLA Students Hold Conference

In April, the students of Penn-Trafford High School’s ‘Future Business Leaders of America’ (FBLA) club invited professionals from various professions to speak at a year-end conference highlighting career options.

The day’s events took place in the school’s Media Center and were led by FBLA officers.  Each speaker described the education, job duties, and potential salary in their field of work, and then had the students perform a job-related activity.  Among the speakers were Mark Ferguson (Human Resources), Rob Andrews (Cybersecurity), Lauren Corna (Marketing), Kevin Litzinger (Engineering), and Todd Shafer (Financial Investments).

The highlight of the conference was student speakers Emily and Abigail Veychek.  The sisters presented their business (Twin Rocks and Crystals), shared their journey of starting the company and explained how their small business has helped them to pay for college.

The conference concluded with an awards ceremony and recognition of FBLA member achievements.
