PTHS Student Receives National African American Recognition Award

Taijah Cameron, a junior at Penn-Trafford High School, earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications.  Students are connected with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process.

Taijah was awarded the National African American Recognition Award (NAARA) based on her GPA as well as her performance on college entrance exams.  She plans to continue her education at a four-year college/university, possibly studying child psychology (an interest that was sparked by her teachers and coursework at PTHS).

“We’re thrilled that Cameron has earned this recognition,” said principal Mr. Aquilio.  “We are very proud of her achievements in the classroom and on College Board assessments.”
