At Harrison Park Elementary School, Student Learning Assistant Jake Smith taught the school’s third-graders about Patriot Day and the many sacrifices made on 9-11-2001. After the lesson, students wrote letters to first responders to thank them for their bravery. “Mr. Smith feels that this event was a very important part of history and he was excited to educate the kids on it,” commented third-grade teacher Miss Castaldo. “The students were very interested in the lesson and eager to write their letters.”
