Students Tour Arnold Palmer Regional Airport

Students from Penn-Trafford High School joined approximately 150 other Westmoreland County students for a tour of the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe.  The students received an in-depth tour highlighting the daily operations of an airport.  They were greeted by County Commissioner Ted Kopas and were able to speak with booking agents, maintenance workers, ground control, TSA agents, and pilots.

As part of the Westmoreland County Gifted Coalition’s ‘Architecture Design Challenge’ supported by Arnold Palmer Regional Airport and in collaboration with Penn State University - The Eberly Campus, students from each high school will be developing a proposal for the redesign of the airport.  This coming spring, teams from each school will present their remodel designs, models and ideas to a panel of professionals.
