New Materials Augment Classroom

The Autistic Support Room at McCullough Elementary School has received new materials which allow students to unwind with sensory breaks and also provide an appropriate transition activity as the class moves from one activity to another.

Miss Sara Quatse, a Student Learning Assistant at the school, held a DonorsChoose campaign to raise funds for new sensory bins, fidget toys, dry-erase boards, as well as cleaning and organizational supplies.

“Fidget toys are great for our students to have throughout periods of time when they need to be sitting, like school assemblies,” comments Quatse.  “While it looks like a toy, it is something that eases our students’ minds and bodies for important events.”
