At Level Green Elementary School, first-grade teachers Mrs. Giovannitti, Ms. Hlavsa, and Mrs. Shogan planned a camping-themed day during the last week of school.

Students brought sleeping bags, stuffed animals, and flashlights for their classroom campouts. Throughout the day, the classes completed literacy and math centers with camping themes, played games inside the tent, and even took a nature walk to collect items for a scavenger hunt.  “Camping day was a fun and exciting way to wrap up the school year in first grade,” commented Mrs. Shogan.  “You could see the pure joy on the students' faces all day.”
