‘Battle of the Sticks’ Raises Funds

On Friday, May 10, the Penn-Trafford Boys and Girls High School Lacrosse teams joined forces to host the second annual ‘Battle of the Sticks’ event at Warrior Stadium. The purpose of the night was to generate excitement for the sport of lacrosse, acknowledge both high school teams for qualifying for the WPIAL playoffs, and most importantly raise money for the district's Backpacks-To-Go program.

Youth participants had the opportunity to take the field for various skills contests under the encouragement and instruction of high school players. Later in the evening, the high school players had the chance to participate in the fun and compete against each other in a series of drills that involved speed, agility, and accuracy. The teams raised $952 for the program through door donations, t-shirt sales, basket raffles, concessions, and games.
