Harrison Park Third-Graders Reflect on Heroes

At Harrison Park Elementary School, Mrs. Beth Leydig’s third-grade class took time this week to reflect on the meaning of heroes as part of a lesson connected to the remembrance of September 11th.

Students discussed the various types of heroes in their lives, ranging from parents and teachers to first responders and community helpers, while learning how everyday bravery and kindness can make a lasting impact. Each student then customized a booklet to define their own personal hero and explain why that person is important to them.
