Middle School Students Honor 9/11 Through Math and Reflection

Sixth-grade students from both Penn Middle School and Trafford Middle School came together the week of September 8th in a unique way to honor September 11th.

As part of a shared learning activity, students at both schools applied their knowledge of ratios and proportions to study the stars and stripes of the American flag.

β€œThis shared project not only deepened their learning but also gave them an appreciation for the symbolism of the flag as they reflected on the importance of remembering 9/11,” commented Trafford teacher Mrs. Sara Watt. β€œIt also highlighted the unity between our schools as we remembered a day when our nation stood together.”
