Through the Penn-Trafford School District’s ‘PT Teamworks’ program, the boys’ 9th-grade basketball team lent a hand at Level Green Presbyterian Church to help pack Thanksgiving food boxes for local families.
After a Saturday morning practice, eight players headed to the church, where they assisted volunteers with sorting items, packing boxes, and carrying the heavier loads. The church then distributed the food to 23 local families. The experience not only supported the community but also gave the student-athletes a meaningful opportunity to grow together outside the gym.
PT Teamworks will continue throughout the school year, with various teams and clubs participating in a wide range of service projects. The initiative reflects Penn-Trafford’s commitment to developing well-rounded students who value service, leadership, and community pride.
Local organizations seeking volunteers for upcoming projects or events may contact PT Teamworks coordinator Colleen Kelly at [email protected] or 724-744-4496.
