Freshmen and sophomores from Penn-Trafford High School attended the UPMC Pathways for Students event in November at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.
The event was designed to provide an educational and interactive experience, giving students the opportunity to explore careers within the health care field. Participants learned about approximately 50 different career areas available at UPMC, ranging from clinical and technical roles to administrative and support positions.
In addition to career exploration, representatives from 17 academic institutions were on hand to help students learn about educational pathways and training options related to health care professions. Students were able to ask questions, gather information, and gain insight into the steps needed to pursue future careers in the field.
The experience helped PTHS students gain valuable exposure to potential career paths and begin thinking about their future educational and professional goals.
