Sunrise Estates Elementary School Gets “Grinched”

During a festive week in December, Sunrise Estates Elementary School hosted a spirited fundraiser that brought a touch of Whoville to classroom doors throughout the building.

Students had the opportunity to purchase a “Grinch” ticket for 50 cents, which could be placed on any classroom door, or a “Cindy Lou Who” ticket for $1.00 to place on their own classroom door to cancel out any Grinches. The friendly competition encouraged creativity, school spirit, and generosity.

At the conclusion of the fundraiser, the winning classrooms were Mr. Pompilio’s fourth-grade class, which took first place, followed by Mrs. Cerutti’s first-grade class in second place and Mrs. Hartman’s fourth-grade class in third place.

The event raised an impressive $7,428.94, with all proceeds donated to Make-A-Wish.
