PTTV Named ‘Best High School Broadcast’

Penn-Trafford High School’s Television Production class, PTTV, has been recognized as the best high school broadcast show across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The honor was awarded by Point Park University’s School of Communication in collaboration with Bob Pompeani, an alumnus of the university and anchor at KDKA.

PTTV received the Bob Pompeani High School Broadcast Award after submitting a recorded broadcast and advancing as a finalist. The team was invited to Point Park University, where students produced a live broadcast on February 14 alongside two other finalist schools.

Penn-Trafford seniors Chloe Stack, Brooklyn Usmiller, Maddy Longo, Alyssa Arko, and junior Allyson Paulone represented PTTV during the live competition. In addition to the regional recognition, the program was awarded a $1,000 prize to support future production efforts.

“It’s an honor to be invited to compete for this prestigious award,” commented teacher Mr. Vinton.  “I am very proud of the students who represented PTTV at the competition.  They did a fantastic job delivering the news to bring home 1st place.”
