At McCullough Elementary School, fifth-grade teacher Mrs. Jasiewicz recently expanded the digital resources available in her classroom through a successful DonorsChoose campaign.
To enhance student access to online learning tools, Mrs. Jasiewicz requested funding for a classroom set of headphones to support her reading lessons. The headphones enhance students' use of digital materials and also build their listening skills.
“By bringing durable headphone sets into the classroom, I can ensure informational accessibility for all students and an opportunity to enhance their listening skills,” said Jasiewicz.
The new equipment is particularly useful with Penn-Trafford School District’s new Open Court reading curriculum, which includes interactive online lessons, research projects, and multimedia components. The new headphones help students to work independently and stay focused.
