Lego Crash Derby Delights Students

The after-school “Lego Club” at Harrison Park Elementary School welcomed over 85 students to its February meeting.  The club, organized by Student Learning Assistant Mr. Noah Brundrett, is open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The February challenge, titled “Winter’s Revenge Smash-Up Derby,” invited students to design and build sturdy Lego structures that could withstand a trip down a ramp and a collision at the bottom. The goal was to create a design strong enough to survive the impact.

“Students were excited to get started on this one, as it is one of the few times they can smash Legos together and not get in trouble,” Brundrett said. “Legos were everywhere by the end of the night.”
