Students Accept Airport Design Challenge

Students from middle and high schools across Westmoreland County recently participated in the Architecture and Marketing Design Challenge for the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.

As part of the competition, student teams developed proposals aimed at enhancing the airport experience. Participants presented their ideas to a panel of judges that included members of the airline industry, Saint Vincent College faculty, and lead teachers. Students also had the opportunity to present their projects to Senator Kim Ward.

In the high school division, Penn-Trafford students earned third place for their proposal to install a golf simulator in the airport’s new terminal. The concept highlighted golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer from around the world while promoting a family-friendly travel experience for passengers.
