Two Penn-Trafford High School journalism students have earned state recognition in the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association’s Student Keystone Media Awards. The awards recognize outstanding work by high school journalists across Pennsylvania.
Senior Annabelle Aquino received first place in the Sports Photo category for a softball photograph taken in May of last year. Senior Mia Williams was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Editorial category for her opinion piece about the “Assassin” game, which was published near the end of last school year.
“Annabelle and Mia are two phenomenal student journalists whose contributions to PTHS’s student newspaper, The Warrior, will leave a lasting, positive impression on the school community,” P-T Journalism teacher Jason Wawrzeniak said. “They are diligent, determined, and creative, and they are terrific role models for their peers. Annabelle and Mia deserve all the recognition they earn for their reporting, photography, and other media work.”
