Art Lesson Teaches Texture

Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Diana Cardamone’s art classes at McCullough Elementary School have completed a lesson focused on line direction and texture.

Students learned how the direction and placement of lines can create the illusion of texture in their artwork. They applied this technique while also studying the anatomy of an eye, using oil pastels to produce detailed, hyper-realistic depictions of animal eyes.

“These students are incredibly talented!” Mrs. Cardamone said, reflecting on the students’ finished projects.
