Students at Trafford Elementary School donated 1,253 boxes of candy as part of a “Random Acts of Kindness” project coordinated by library aide Jenny Winter. The donations were given to the nonprofit organization Beverly’s PGH, and will be used in birthday treat bags for children in need.
Mrs. Stultz’s fifth-grade class contributed 321 boxes, the highest total among classrooms, and earned an ice cream sundae celebration in recognition of their efforts. A school-wide celebration is also planned to mark the school surpassing last year’s donation total.
“Students met Megs Yunns, founder of Beverly’s PGH, who visited the school to thank them for their contributions,” said Winter. “During her visit, Yunns spoke with students about the impact of their generosity, helping them understand how even small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in the lives of others.”
