As the school year came to a close, Trafford Elementary School gave two students the opportunity to step into leadership roles as “Principal for the Day” after the boys eagerly asked Superintendent Dr. Harris if they could help lead the school for a day. Principal Horvat agreed, turning the students’ idea into a memorable experience for everyone in the building.
Throughout the day, fifth-graders Darian Nezianya and Luka Dorosh joined Dr. Horvat in walking the halls, visiting classrooms, and checking to see if teachers or students needed anything. The boys also enjoyed lunch with the principal, where they discussed the day’s activities and shared ideas for making school even more fun.
“They made promises like extra recess and a treat after lunch,” Dr. Horvat said. “They also helped lead two therapy dogs around the school to each classroom. They were great helpers!”
The day allowed the students to experience school leadership firsthand, and also brought smiles to classmates and staff.
