Project:  New Playground

For years, our playground has been the heart of our school community. It’s where friendships are formed, imaginations soar, and students discover the joy of being active. However, much of our equipment has worn down after years of use and exposure, and it’s time for action.

We are raising money to improve the Sunrise Estates Elementary School playground, which has had only two new pieces in the last 20 years.  With few exceptions, the current playground is a lackluster collection of equipment.  The playground pieces receive some TLC year after year from the district maintenance staff, but for safety reasons we can no longer ignore the need for new equipment.

Here are a few photos of the current playground equipment, which show its age and damage...

We are planning a three-phase revitalization of the Sunrise playground.  It is cost-prohibitive to complete the entire project at once.

This rendering shows all three phases of the playground revitalization. On the left is a special area for pre-K students with age-appropriate play pieces to spark imagination and build coordination.  In the center are swings for all, giving every child the timeless joy of soaring through the air.  The space on the right is dedicated to elementary-aged students, featuring climbing structures, slides, and equipment that challenge their growing skills.
